There is cheap and there is inexpensive. Avoid street corner sunglasses which are often only dark glass of uneven coating. They may not cut UV rays at all. That is cheap.
On the other hand, there are inexpensive brands with UV filtration.
Most of the damage to your eyes is done by UV rays.

it depends on what the tag says for UV protection,,, less expensive may mean the frame, lens type and or thickness, brand name,,,Did you also know products change names not products West Bend Co. makes products for Montgomery Wards? They just change the stamp.

Look at the UV on them… Just because there expensive doesn't mean there better… Just check out the UV's on them and then compare them.

No. The UV percentage or whatever it is, is what's important. You get what you pay for.

Do you possibly remember where you purchased them…and about what year they were purchased…maybe you could go back to the store and see if they have any old catalogs in which you could look at and try to order them as a replacement…

Or maybe you could go to e-bay and search sunglasses, you might find someone selling some…

I feel bad for you, I know that when something works for you, it really sucks when you can't find it again…

Wow, I remember those glasses. For the life of me I can't think of the name. I keep thinking it was something futuristic sounding. Ektelon? I don't know.
